Nilal Child Safety Standards

Nilal has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming, sextortion and trafficking. This page sets out the standards we hold ourselves and our members to.

Adults only

Nilal is a matrimony service for adults. Brides must be at least 18 and grooms at least 21 (Indian marriage law). Every profile records a date of birth, and the app refuses ages below these limits.

Accounts that appear to belong to, or are run for, a minor are suspended and removed.

What is not allowed

Any sexual content involving minors, or content that sexualises children in any way.

Contacting, grooming or soliciting minors, or arranging the marriage of a minor (child marriage is a crime under the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006).

Sharing, requesting or linking to CSAM anywhere in the app, including chats, photos and voice notes.

How to report

In the app: open the profile (or chat), tap the menu and choose Report. Reports reach our safety team, and reporting also blocks the person straight away.

By email: smewritingagency@gmail.com, with the profile code and what you saw. Urgent child-safety reports are reviewed first.

If a child is in immediate danger, call 112 (India) or your local emergency number first.

What we do

Photos are checked automatically before they appear, and reported content is reviewed by people.

Content or accounts involving CSAE are removed and the accounts banned (the phone number cannot be used again).

We report CSAM and child-exploitation to the authorities: the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (cybercrime.gov.in) and the police under the POCSO Act, 2012, and to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) where it applies, and we preserve the evidence the law requires.

We cooperate with law-enforcement requests made under the law.
